Nature Group Artist Statement

“If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive.”   Eleonora Duse

We are the Nature Focus Group of the Duxbury Camera Club. Ranging from realistic to abstract patterns found in the wild, nature images portray the beauty of the world which surrounds us. Our subjects include plants, flowers, animals, birds, insects, landscapes, seascapes and the cosmic. We have varied interests in subject matter, but we all enjoy interpreting the beauty and variety of our planet.  Our goal is to capture the details of the world around us in all sorts of light, whether in our back yards or across the universe.  We love the surprise element of nature photography; unexpectedly encountering a beautiful scene or elusive creature that we might record with our cameras. No matter what our favorite subject matter is, we all agree that experiencing nature is our passion, and capturing the image is a bonus.

We hope you enjoy our show!
